Acrylic and Coloured Pencil on Indian Rag Paper 12 x 8 inches 2012
This is the final image in a series of 20 paintings that were begun in London outside Tate Modern on August 14,2012. I started to draw at 6:45 pm and finished drawing at 10:00 pm, with no breaks. I was fascinated by the grove of Baltic Birch planted outside the Tate especially when the lights came on at 8: 30. I drew in graphite and after getting the composition down I took a photo of each scene for future reference. Then back in my studio in Montreal, using the photos as memory aids, I competed the paintings using acrylic paint and coloured pencils.
